The blog almost got mentioned in Fenton’s article about Dave Tritt. Apparently there is still a rumor out there that I am a candidate. The GOPerative is not running for any office and no candidate controls what I write. I do not check with any of my connections before I post an article or comment. This blog was actually started by my lonesome without the consent or advice from anyone.
As far as the current Sheriff’s poll goes your guess is as good as mine. How Tritt has 45% I have not a clue. I tried voting twice for two different candidates and I couldn’t. I think it is fairly hard to cheat on these polls compared to the last polling software that I used. I think it was “Jim†who accurately stated that these polls only reach campaign insiders. I may have a few readers that are not linked directly to campaigns but I think that group is the minority. I think I can accurately state that Tritt is well liked among the insiders of many different camps as the poll shows. Whether that popularity translate to votes on September 12 remains to be seen.
Fenton also alluded to my early support of Dave’s candidacy. I think it is more accurate to say that this site was anti-Golding from its inception. Dave was the only option at that time. We have a sheriff who said that gangs have a right to exist and was recently forced by the community to increase the number of deputies on patrol in Edgewood where people are getting shot in the middle of the day. Being someone who pays attention there was no way I was going to support Golding. I think recent history has vindicated that decision.
It is fair to say that the GOPerative prefers Tritt and possibly Price. Both seem to be strong advocates for change which appears to be badly needed. The rest appear to be advocates for the same. Whoever wins will have the fight of their lives against Bane. I guess I will have to let the deputies speak for themselves on this one. I recently heard that several of them have found this site because of my anti-Golding sentiments. I welcome them to the discussion and I promise I won’t tell your boss you were here.

I think that the article was very well done, and it definitely served the Tritt camp very well. It almost makes me wonder how much he paid for it. ; ) Just kidding. And I found the reference to this site to be very interesting. I am very glad to see all the support that Tritt has, his signs seem to be cropping up all over the county. And, I am surprised to see how well he has done with the online poll here. Hopefully, it is a harbinger of things to come….

GOPerative, your analysis is right on. Dave was the only person who had the courage to stand against Golding right from the beginning. Without a doubt in my mind, the reason that Dave Tritt has the respect that he does from so many people is because of his unwavering faith, which governs his every action. Dave is committed to his God, his family, his party, and his conviction that he can take on the task of restoring integrity to the Harford County Sheriff’s department. He does not go negative because he doesn’t need to. The man is a class act, and no matter what happens on September 12, all of us could stand to take a lesson from this paragon of moral clarity and professionalism.
