Yet another article in The Examiner about the sheriff’s office, Opponent accuses sheriff of misconduct. It seems like The Examiner has a permanent office over there. This article takes a little different spin from their previous articles. It looks like the gloves are coming off early in this race.

    GOPerative-

I spoke with Mr. Plum for about 15 minutes about how I wanted to serve the agency, refocus the priorities of the leadership, improve recruiting, create a cadet program, improve morale, and move the agency forward; unfortunately, these were the only soundbites that were reported.

Having said that, I do think the Sheriff’s Office needs to be “de-politicized,” and a good way to start would be for candidates not to accept contributions from those under their command. Accepting these contributions will always cast doubt on whether personnel with desirable assignments got them on merit, or because of campaign donations.

Mr. Tritt – Don’t worry about the “unfortunate” soundbites being reported. Yes, it’s a shame that other quotes weren’t used as well, but what was reported is a pretty big deal. If I’m Matt Plum, it’s those juicier soundbites I’m going to run with, too. I salute you for pointing out something that is truly problematic.
