The Sun: General Assembly
The Sun endorsed the following:
State Senate District 34: Bill Kilby
I’m sure a dairy farmer has a lot of knowledge about gangs and crime. He will do a fine job helping Edgewood, Aberdeen, and Havre de Grace get rid of the Bloods and the Crips. I greatly respect Bill Kilby for the excitement and strong desire he showed in filing for the seat on the last possible day after the filing deadline. He clearly showed that he wanted the job and has the plan to lead District 34 into the future. Go get’m Procrastinating Billy.
House of Delegates District 34A: Mary Dulany James and B. Dan Riley
I look forward to these true-hardcore democrats representing us in Annapolis. B. Dan Riley’s calm and respectful demeanor will be a breath of fresh air in the General Assembly. His gracefulness and charm will bring home the needed dollars for our schools in District 34.
Mary Dulany James will continue to do what she does best: vote conservatively when her vote doesn’t matter and tow the liberal line when Buschy needs her. She did such a good job bringing home the much needed dollars for schools in the last session. Whenever a tax increase is proposed in Annapolis we can rest easy that MDJ will vote correctly the first time and change her vote when squeezed. We need MDJ in Annapolis!
State Senate District 35: Stan Kollar
We need more State Senators in Annapolis whose main purpose in life is to screw businesses. I’m not sure about you but I love it when our General Assembly goes after corporate America and says, “We don’t want you jobs, we don’t want you tax revenue, we don’t like successful businesses!” We can all sleep easier knowing that Stan Kollar will be out there“closing corporate tax loopholes…and ensuring employers pay their fair share of health care insurance for workers.” Vote Stan Kollar to tell businesses that we don’t want them in Maryland!
House of Delegates District 35A: Craig DeRan
We need more chauvinist pigs in Annapolis. We do not need any more Barbies in the General Assembly. I want a delegate who tells me how I can use my land. These decisions should be decided by politicians and not the hardworking families that actually own the land. The air quality is so bad in Northern Harford County. I am so glad that a candidate is finally standing up for the air. The air and the trees cannot speak for themselves so we need DeRan to be their Lorax.
House of Delegates District 35B: David Carey
I’m not sure about you but I hate graffiti. We need to send David Carey to Annapolis to make sure graffiti is stopped in Harford County. I say we cane anyone who vandalizes property with graffiti. Surprisingly no other candidate has mentioned graffiti or put graffiti on their yard signs. David Carey is the only candidate in Harford County with the courage to stand up against graffiti. With such vision and courage how can we not send him to Annapolis. Say no to graffiti, vote Carey.

I can’t believe that David Carey is campaining on the fact that he will increase the sales tax… wow… that is nuts.

After tonite’s candidate forum… That Baltimore Sun endorsement is looking sillier and sillier. Nancy manhandled whatever her opponent. Her opponent actually said that he thought it was good that illegal immigrants were invading our state. He has no clue and it is clear that we can’t trust him to represent us since he has no idea of what he is doing. Nancy was terrific as we have come to expect over her last decade of representing Harford County. We’re lucky to have her.
Dion Guthrie showed himself to be a jerk… he really had no ideas to benefit the community. All he did was attack the nice young man running against him. Chris Biggs has a vision to improve Joppa and Edgewood, unlike Dion who had 4 years but can’t talk about what he has done. All he can do is try to make personal attacks and meaningless accusations… real leadership Dion.

So your ok with all of Biggs lies?

Okay, Where’s Waldo. I’ll ask you AGAIN to substantiate your charge of Chris being a liar.

I have done that so many times on this site, obviously you haven’t taken the time to do any reading.

You people are so stupid. Immigration is a federal issue, not a state one. Get real.
October 29th, 2006 at 4:10 pm
newcomer, actually the immigration issue can be a local issue if you have a council with a backbone that will actually do something about it. Hazelton, PA passed an ordinance locally that dealt with the immmigration issue- hiring of illegals, etc. and I believe it included an English-only language provision. So not all of us are stupid after all, we just expect our elected representatives to actually represent us- at EVERY level. Maybe we need to get some people from Hazelton on our council that won’t sit on their hands waiting for the feds to deal with the issue….

Certainly STATE officials have clout when it comes to this issue! If elected, Kilby would be a STATE official, newcomer. By the way, pejoratives like “You people are so stupid” undermine any argument you may have, no matter how valid it is.
